When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for a community to dissolve the invisible digital bonds which have connected them to a system of industrial extraction, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all communities are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of a quiet and secure Home. That to secure these rights, local governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.
The history of the current industrial expansion into the Foothills is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over our resources. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world:

The Extractors have combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our Constitution and unacknowledged by our local laws: They have colluded with out-of-state corporate interests to bypass our local autonomy and fast-track industrial facilities that violate the character and safety of our rural lands.

The Cartel has plundered our wells, ravaged our grid, and imperiled the lives of our people: By prioritizing the “energy addiction” of Big Tech, they have socialized the costs of grid expansion onto our families, while draining our aquifers during times of unprecedented drought.

The Technocracy has kept among us, in times of peace, a Standing Army of Surveillance: They have erected an infrastructure of digital observation, training AI systems to track, profile, and control the movements and transactions of free citizens without their informed consent.

The Beneficiaries of this corruption have imposed Taxes on us without our Consent: By engineering rate hikes to build private industrial substations and transmission lines, they have levied a “Tech Tax” on every household, forcing us to subsidize their profit margins.

The Utility-State-Corporate Nexus has refused their Assent to Laws: When presented with our “Public Safety & Resource Protection Charter,” they have delayed, obfuscated, and ignored the 40 ironclad standards required to keep our families safe—choosing corporate convenience over the common good.
In every stage of these Oppressions, We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.
We, therefore, as Concerned Citizens and Stewards of the Foothills Community, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these counties, solemnly publish and declare, That our community is, and of Right ought to be, Free and Independent; that we are Absolved from all Allegiance to the “inevitability” of corporate exploitation, and that as Free Communities, we have full Power to mandate safety, protect our water, and secure our grid.
And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.
